2001 Focus SE
« on: September 17, 2011, 08:39:31 PM »
So was delivering parts for Bedford Ford & Chrysler and i seen this nice Focus SE parked at this house so i stopped about a month ago and asked about it. Timing belt snapped and the valves touched a piston and bent a valve as the head had been milled excessively. So went back today to look at it and he was tired of messing with it, and sold it to me for 400.00. So i will be fixing it up as my daily driver and that will keep the S/R off the road this winter.

Loving the fact that all my spare Zetec parts will fit it. Currently i some Ford Racing adjustable cam gears and Underdrive pulley, Ford Racing wires, 24lb injectors, and a lot of Ford Racing suspension parts that will fit it.

Well i started the tear down and removed the interior, the dash and etc and wiring harness, ready to perform the SPI/Auto to Zetec Manual swap. Has been a little bit of a challenge as the wire from the PCM runs the entire way back to the fuel pump, so instead of dealing with that i cut the wires up at the kick panel near the pcm and installed a OEM connector kit i bought from the dealership where i work and wired that in.

So the focus has now been swapped from an SPI with an automatic to a Zetec with a manual transmission.

Slowly swapping the interior over from tan to Black.

Converting the rear drum brakes to an SVT Focus rear disc setup.
